Ryoga Family (リョガ グミ RYO-GA GU-MI)
The Ryoga Family, a subsidiary of the Tojo Clan based in Okubo until its dissolution, engaged in a tumultuous rivalry with the smaller yet ambitious Koga Family, despite the Koga's lower rank within the Tojo hierarchy.
Both the Ryoga and the Koga families delved into similar white-collar crimes, igniting a longstanding rivalry between them. Surprisingly, the heads of these factions, the Oyabun of the Ryoga Family and the leader of the Koga Family, shared a childhood friendship.
The Ryoga Family's legacy extended beyond its dissolution. It indirectly paved the way for the emergence of the Hidora Clan. Hidora Kuragari, the chairman of the Hidora Clan was a member of the Ryoga Family in his early years, eventually ascending the ranks until he attained the esteemed position of captain within the family.
History
The Ryoga Family's history in Okubo was marked by their involvement in white-collar crimes, like financial manipulation and fraud. They had a complex relationship with the Okubo police force, walking a fine line between being adversaries and necessary allies.
They were skilled at navigating these connections, holding influence not just on the streets but also within law enforcement, creating a mysterious presence in the city's shadows with the help of the R&D section of the Family.
Disbandment
Hidora Kuragari, the captain of the Ryoga Family in the Tojo Clan, anticipated the Tojo's collapse, foreseeing internal divisions leading to its demise. In preparation, he laid the foundation for the Hidora Clan, strategically positioning himself for the post-Tojo landscape.
As the Tojo's disbandment loomed, some Ryoga members opted to depart, choosing civilian life, while others gravitated towards joining different gangs and groups, seeking new affiliations in the evolving underworld. Amid this upheaval, Hidora Kuragari's forward-thinking approach ensured the continuity of his influence beyond the Tojo era.
