Shadowfell

The Shadowfell is the lower of the three Real Planes within the Planes of existence in Hir, and exists as a mirror of the Centreplane and Feywild . The physical landscape of the Shadowfell is a imitation of the Centreplane but differs ever so slightly, in that it is more exaggerated. The valleys run deeper, mountains stand taller. The other stand out feature of the Shadowfell is the one it obtains it's name from, there is a almost abundant lack of light, other than that of the ever-present night sky. In fact light brought into the Shadowfell with cast much shorter ranges, but be visible from almost any distance not obscured from an object. Study of this plane is often dangerous for this reason, bringing light in to be able to see where you are going makes you a beacon so monsters of the Shadowfell come and seek you out as easy prey.
It is not known if intelligent life exists in the Shadowfell although some tell stories of white ghosts in the shape of elves watching them from a distance.
