Marianne was born in Ailbhafair to a well of family who helped with managing the docks. In 878, she met Ianatan, with whom she fell madly in love. In 980 the two married. For the next two years, the two would try to have children, but they were wrought with miscarriage and stillbirth, that is until 990, when their daughter Loreina Sùdrach was born, at the cost of Mariannes life.
