Bronze Barracks
The Bronze Barracks is the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Bronze, a Pilgrim chivalric order located in the Holy City of Jeharoa.
Purpose / Function
The Bronze Barracks is where the Brotherhood of Bronze conducts their business and operations from. The Order is largely responsible for the capture of much of the Mashiq and its leaders have grown exceptionally rich off the conquest. Records of the Brotherhood’s financial dealings, their expenses, and their battle plans can be found in the Lord Commander’s Study on the second floor. The third floor is off limits to visitors. Here, the Brotherhood keeps prisoners, stolen artifacts, and illegal communication devices/teleportation circles. A large number of knights, guards, and veterans patrol the area. There is no alarm system and much of the area is open to those trusted by the Brotherhood (apart from the third floor.)
Architecture
A walled compound made of mud brick. The main building rises some three stories, making it almost a tower amid the clustered structures of the Pilgrim Quarter. Inside the compound are a number of hitches for horses and troughs to water them. Small windows peek out between the imposing bronze banners that flutter from the upper balconies. In a walled off corner of the compound, a small garden with a white oak of serves as a chapel to Ezrahil, the Crusading Goddess. The soil is a poor foundation for this temperate tree and the oak appears sickly.
The interiors are richly furnished with heraldry and exotic weapons captured from campaigns throughout Nioa. Lion and oryx skins carpet the floors and silk curtains billow between rooms. You pass ancient statues and glass displays of captured jewels. Stern soldiers dressed in polished bronze and iron armor clank their way down the hallways. Many give you a curt nod and then say “Deus Vult.”
