The names for the Boose Dump teams were inspired from Blaseball, though the Boose Cards are just generally related to collectable sport cards.
While i've not played a version of Rimworld with the Hoomans, I feel like the feel of it can inspire the Saetan Hoomans.
Rock Rush was inspired by the Monster Mash quest in 76. With less ghouls and more candy. Also really like the weird frogs from there too.
The inspiration for Eidolon's design came from the orokin from Warframe. Boose Dump was also inspired by The Index.
The inital idea of the Nasgovian-Homeworld Civil War came from Xcom 2 as the Nasgovians would be at a big disadvantage.
The currency of Reminia was named after the Platinum Chip.

I don't really watch tv, or much shows in general. But sometimes I find dumb things that get ideas from.The Bachelor
Algernon dragging Mordecai into taking part in the Bachelor is literally just based off of the show, except 100x more stupid (or less depending on what you actually think of the show), and also with murder involved.
I thought it would be funny to have a version of the show ran by aliens who had barely any idea of how it goes.
