Latests

The Latests are a people who hailed from the Northern part of Poe (a part of the continent that was least touched by The Third World War ). Because the majority of the members of the The BFA - Business First Authority were from this part of the continent, their language, traditions and religion were what was seen as standard when the The Sanderstone Speach document set to unify the cultures of the continent "in the name of peace".

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Beauty is highly prized (but more in a sense of the environment around you, than how you look as a person). They see beauty in uniqueness and bold choices, symmetry, and a certain grand theatrical spectacle. In physical objects, bright colors, bold patterns, and the shininess of metals and jewels make an object more beautiful. There is a cultural emphasis on creating beautiful spaces, filled with objects that make the person in them feel cozy (private/personal spaces) or wowed (public spaces). Latests townships tend to have a focus on grand religious and government buildings (with architects competing for the public honor of the sense of "I don't know how they did that but wow it's beautiful") along with carefully planned to by wild gardens and souring water features/fountains. There is a specific emphasis on goods that are handmade (and the artists who make them are seen as highly prized in society).  In terms of fashion, there is a fairly fast pace of change to style (with emphasis on shape and color of clothing) with artists leading the way on trends.
