Loftwing

Loftwings are a species of large birds native to Hyrule and its surrounding lands. While these birds are bigger than a typical Human or Hylian, they tend to be docile and non-aggressive. In fact, if threatened (even by smaller creatures), they will attempt to fly away first and will only fight back as a last resort.
Loftwings are the unofficial symbol of the Kingdom of Hyrule. A stylized Loftwing is found in the crest of the Royal Family of Hyrule.

Loftwings prefer warmer climates, but can survive in cold climates for short periods.

Loftwings eat fish as well as other small critters and rodents.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Loftwings can be domesticated and trained. They have been utilized to carry messages and parcels. With extensive training, Loftwings can be trained to serve as transports, carrying riders around the land. However, due to their skittishness, they are rarely used as mounts or military purposes. Loftwings will throw off any rider if the Loftwing feels it is in the danger and the rider is hampering its escape.

Loftwings are very intelligent birds, able to learn and memorize patterns and understand verbal commands and gestures.
