Ostarith
You stumble through the narrow streets, the only light filtering out from behind curtains drawn shut to keep out the dark. The cobbles beneath your feet are cracked and uneven, and the houses loom over you ominously as you walk.
The Districts
1: Wheatring
Wheatring is the central district of Ostarith. It is home to the city hall, a few shops and the homes of Ostarith's wealthier residents.2: Twilight Cliff
Twighlight cliff is the most densely populated area in Ostarith. It is dirty, dark and dangerous but the people can often be the nicest that you will ever meet.3: Hidden Harbour
Hidden Harbour is slightly better kept than it's neighbouring district and is home to most of Ostarith's fishing families. .4: South Quarter
Outside of the city wall, the South Quarter is pretty much forgotten about. Nothing very interesting ever happens here and everything is 100% not suspicious...5: Ivy harbour
Ivy harbour is home to a few of Ostarith's wealthier fishing families alongside most of Ostarith's dwarven population. It is well kept and has it's own small centre of shops and green spaces.6: Highshade
Highshade is the oldest district of Ostarith. Outside of the city wall, it is home to a few farming cottages and the abandoned graveyard. Few people visit it as it believed to be haunted by the ghost of Ostarith's last king.7: Castle
The castle of Ostarith is home to the eldest son of the lord of dwarves and his family. It rises above the city on a large hill and none are aloud to set foot there without permsission.8: Potter's Lane
Potter's Lane used to be a village in its own right before the city expanded and they merged together. This district lies outside the city wall and is predominantly self governing.Demographics
Ostarith Is mostly home to the men and elves who survived The Great war. As the weather is harsher, and the city in worse conditions, most of the dwarves choose to live in Dentallie in the south. The few dwarves that do live here tend to stay in the better kept neighbourhoods, as far away as they can get from the general population. Despite the less than ideal living conditions, many of the city's citizens have a lot of pride in the place they live and are working hard to restore it to its former glory.
Government
Although it's twin city, Dentallie is home to the Isle's main government, Ostarith has it's own city hall. Here any small, city specific, politics will be dealt with by some of the lesser ranked government officials. Ostarith also has its own courtroom which has seen many a trial, and execution, over the last few hundred years.
A well written summary! It is a very vivid description of the city in a neat, easy to digest package.
