Becoming an initiate of the Angels of Death was no ordinary undertaking; it required a profound commitment and willingness to embrace the shadowy depths of arcane knowledge. The path to membership was paved with dark rituals and a binding oath that cemented one's allegiance to the enigmatic order. To make sure the cause was protected Renaesella communed with Yxtarr to aid her in creating rituals to both worship Yxtarr and confirm initiates desire to join the cause.   Initiation Rituals: The journey into the fold of the Angels of Death commenced with a series of ritualistic trials designed to test the initiate's resolve and affinity for the forbidden arts. Under the guidance of Renaesella Vaeltigar, aspirants were subjected to rigorous mental and physical challenges, often involving the manipulation of dark magic, deciphering cryptic symbols, excruciating torture, and confronting their deepest fears. These rites, shrouded in an aura of mystery and foreboding, served to weed out the faint-hearted and those lacking the necessary dedication.   Blood Pact Oath: At the culmination of their trials, initiates were presented with the Blood Pact Oath—a binding and solemn commitment that forged an unbreakable connection between them and the Angels of Death. Standing before the assembly of fellow members, the initiate recited the oath, pledging their allegiance to the order, its goals, and the pursuit of knowledge that transcended the boundaries of life and death. The oath was sealed with a symbolic act involving the drawing of a significant amount of blood, representing the initiate's willingness to sacrifice and commit to the cause.   Summoning of the Shadow Veil: One of the most pivotal and enigmatic rituals was the Summoning of the Shadow Veil. Led by Renaesella herself, initiates gathered within the heart of The Necropolis, surrounded by the hushed whispers of ancient incantations and the flickering glow of candles. The ritual aimed to create a metaphysical link between the initiate's essence and the essence of Yxtarr, the goddess of death. Through a meticulously choreographed sequence of movements, invocations, and offerings, the Shadow Veil—a spectral shroud that represented the interconnectedness of life and death—was conjured. Initiates were instructed to step through this veil, symbolizing their acceptance of the duality of existence and their alignment with the forces that transcended mortality. Passing through the veil connected the initiates to the Necropolis and confirmed their acceptence of death, allowing Renaesella through Yxtarr's Grimoire to end the life of any being that has passed through the veil through a dark ritual.   Pursuit of Forbidden Knowledge: As initiates completed these rituals, they embarked on a lifelong journey of exploration and transformation. The order's members were granted access to the esoteric teachings and dark arts contained within Yxtarr's Grimoire. They were encouraged to delve into the intricacies of necromancy, soul manipulation, and the manipulation of life energies. Through rigorous study and guided experimentation, initiates honed their skills, gaining mastery over arcane secrets that held the power to challenge the fabric of reality itself.   By undergoing these dark rituals and pledging their unwavering loyalty through the Blood Pact Oath, initiates solidified their place within the ranks of the Angels of Death. Their shared experiences, forged connections, and profound understanding of the mysteries of the afterlife bound them together as a formidable force—a beacon of arcane knowledge and power that would forever echo through the annals of history.
