Imperial Borderregions
Though nominally not an idependent nation, the expansive forested areas on the eastern borders of the Empire are only very loosely controlled. Most imperial officials avoid them and allow the people living there to largely live as as the please. This is mainly due to the almost indomitable fauna, which exists in the area.
The only known group of people, who are able to live in the Borderregions and hold their own against the monstrosities, which roam the forest, are the "Monster Hunters" (THEY call themselves that. As a scholar, I have to question how much validity this name has).
Geography
Most terrain in the Borderregions is a type of forest, suspected to be a remnant of a long-gone period, when almost all flora and fauna was far larger. That is to say, the trees in said forest are simply massive, both in height and width. There is little height variation in this place, except for a few mountains.
Ecosystem
"It is eat, or be eaten out here. The beasts, monstrosities, undead and even some of the plants are out to get you, every day. It's the rule of the strongest and the more adaptable. Everything living here, including us, is looking for a way to survive and dominate all others."

"As a scholar, studying the life of this world, I was always fascinated by the tales of the potentially ancient beings which roam the eastern forests."
