Empire of Stanver
The Empire of Stanver is widely considered to be the oldest, largest and most powerful nation in the world. Multiple Eras have been named after Stanverian Emperors, due to the Empire's influence. Well-organized, strictly regulated and unfaltering in its goals, the Empire is a monolith of power, dominating most of its competitors (except maybe the Nemosian Free States) with ease.
Demography and Population
The Empire is home to all people of the Old World. Whilst the majority of Imperial citizens are elves and humans, members of all races call the villages, towns and cities of the Empire their home.
Due to Imperial law ensuring the equal treatment of all Imperial citizens, people are drawn to its settlements, especially those people who experienced discrimination in their previous homes. A recent example of such an influx would be large wave of immigrating orcs and half orcs, following the Greenskin War.
The population is divided more or less equally across its territory, due to Imperial policies, which ensure a roughly equal distribution of people over the entirety of the Empire's territory. Whilst members of the common races can be found basically anywhere in the Empire, majorities of different races tend to concentrate in different areas, with the exception of humans, which can be found in large numbers almost everywhere. Population centers like towns and cities are mainly populated by elves (those who decided to leave their forest enclaves), half elves and tieflings. The rural areas are home to majorities of halflings and the arriving orcs and half orcs (who seem to prefer less densely-populated places, likely for fear of discrimination). Dwarves (and certain groups of elves) are a special case, due to their preference towards living in special settlements of their own. The dwarven mountain fortresses and elven forest enclaves are tolerated by the Empire and largely left to their own devices (they probably are allowed to live like this due to how valuable their respective talents are to the Empire).
Population size and distribution are lightly controlled by the Imperial administration, mainly through small policies and incentives, which encourage specific behaviors. These measures are in place to ensure stability, both in terms of economy and society. Imperial citizens are mostly content with this system, since it is another tool through which the Empire ensures their well-being (even if some might argue that it is somewhat tyrannical in certain aspects).

Foreign Relations
The Empire is an unstoppable juggernaut in all respects and its relations with other nations is no exception. The typical political intrigues and positioning, along with the preliminary examinations of each other, which are common in the dealings between the nations of the Old World do not apply to the Colossus.
Imperial diplomats always act from a position of superior backing and never back down on their assigned agenda (well, exceptionally rarely actually, as the incident in 56 Ard. sho...). Official Stanverian policy is for their diplomats to be above any "tasteless skullduggery", which may harm political relations. It seems that the intention here is to create an appearance of openness and honesty (as much as such a thing can be applied to an entity such as the Empire), as to encourage smaller nations to cooperate without the need for force.
Notable is the Empire's relationship with the Nemosian Free States. Since the Free States the closest thing to an equal to the Empire, special attention has been paid to the dealings of these two political forces by both their diplomats and third parties. Some expected tensions to increase and eventually lead to open conflict, especially in the years after the founding of the younger superpower. Such expectations were disproven though and agreements between the Empire and the Free Stateswere made, securing non-aggression between the nations.

Laws
The basic laws of the Empire are quite simple and easy to understand, so as to allow all of its citizens to take part in life within the Empire without much issue.
Imperial lawmakers have created multiple codices which contain the rules and regulations for the many different aspects of life in the Empire. Said codices are structured in a way that regular citizens at most have to concern themselves with only one or two of them, depending mostly on their occupation. Emphasis in these law books lies on fairness, equality and the strict upholding of order. Whilst some room is given for those who pass judgment based on these laws to interpret them, it still leaves little freedom in this regard, though the (supposed) consensus is that such freedom is largely unnecessary.
The penalties for disobeying Imperial law vary with the severity of the crime and the "record" of the offender, along with some other, minor factors. Most common are light punishments, like fines or short periods of imprisonment. The most severe sentences are the death penalty and consingment to the Penal Legions. Such measures are reserved for the most severe of crimes and habitual offenders (like most bandits and other career criminals).
The Empire prides itself on having a nigh-inescapable executive body. Its soldiers are almost omnipresent and capable of resolving most issues with relative ease and bringing small-time criminals to justice is part of such issues. Most offenders are caught within days and convicted just as quickly, if not quicker.

Currency
Coins in gold, silver and copper are the currency of the Empire and most of the Old World. The exchange rates are set to be in tens, as to simplify their use.
Legislative Body
Laws and decrees in the Empire are written and managed by a massive cadre of dedicated officials in the imperial capital of Kinstright. They convert the word of the Emperor into enactable law. Rumors (or to be more precise, unfounded nonsense) say that a being of the plane of absolute law oversees the operation of this institution.
Judicial Body
The law is upheld and enforced by the omnipresent men and women of the Imperial Army, who serve as both a military and police force for the Empire. Most cases are handled by local commanders of the Army, though if an officer deems a case to be to complex, they might transfer it to a trained and experienced judge in a nearby city.
Executive Body
Imperial soldiers and guardsmen enforce the law of the Empire. They patrol the streets, carry out investigations and make arrests. The men and women of the Imperial Army perform these tasks as part of their duty and take pride in upholding public order.
