Prospector
Prospectors are widely considered to be a crucial part of the efforts to colonize Igniya. The work they do is perceived as invaluable, since they do what others are not cabple of, equipped for, or simple do not have the time for. Many people on Igniya use hire Prospectors through the Prospector's Guild, in order for work to get done and problems to be solved. Accordingly the work and dangers a Prospector will have to deal with is often quite diverse. Due to that fact and since the New World presents so many different challenges, Prospectors usually work in teams, in which every members has their own distinct set of skills and abilities.
Basically anyone can become a Prospector and offer their service to the people on Igniya, though most people, who become Prospectors, have at least some experience with combat and surviving in hostile enviroments.
Officially all Prospectors are signed up with the Prospector's Guild, which is based in the Dominion of Felion and nominally part of Felion's government, though in accordance to Felion's culture, the Guild is largely independent.

Career
Qualifications
Basically anyone can become a Prospector, as long as they possess useful skills and are willing to do risky work.
Career Progression
Though there is no real system of ranks, only well-established and experienced teams will gain access to the most dangerous and well-paying jobs.
Payment & Reimbursement
The pay of a Prospector depends on the work they do. Particularly dangerous and difficult work pays the best. Due to the inherent dangers and uncertainty that Prospectors face in their line of work, even basic jobs have decent rewards assigned to them.
Other Benefits
Prospectors are respected and their work is very much appreciated throughout the
New World. People will often grant Prospectors considerable leeway in many areas and are quite willing to heed their words, if their renown and reputation warrants it. It is even said that Felion's government consults its Top-Prospectors, when making important decisions.

Purpose
Prospectors allow people to leave the more dangerous parts of their own work to people, who are used to combat and surviving and working in hazardous conditions. It makes the lives of many civilians and even those of the soldiers of the
Guard far easier.

Old World, who sign up to be Prospectors.
History
The Prospector-system was established shortly after some minor issues with a specific unit of mercenaries and a few legal troubles in the year 107, roughly five months after the
Dominion of Felion was founded. Since then the Prospector's Guild was set up, to manage Prospectors and provide them with a degree of security in terms of work safety, payment and legal issues.
Operations
Tools
The equipment of Prospectors is far from standardised. Most use the weapons and tools, which they are most comfortable with. Every new Prospector receives some basic items, when they sign on with the Guild, if they do not already possess such things (a set of armor, basic weapons and supplies).
Workplace
Provided Services
Prospectors do more or less everything imagineable.
Dangers & Hazards
From other people, to the wildlife and even the land itself, the dangers a Prospector might face are too numerous to put into a comprehensive list.
