Thundercrack

This article contains world spoilers for my DnD party. Keep away Last Whispers!
"Private! Do you mind telling me why you look like a piece of half-burned charcoal straight from my gtandmas cookout?"

"It was lightning Sargnt! I was struck by lightning!"

The Caverns

Sargnt! I was out fightin' with my team a few knots southeast of the Vineyard and we came across this cavern! It was really long, maybe like five, six hundred meters long, and around it was a raging storm! Lightning striking a dozen every second Sarge, it was aweful! Private Lenner got hit twice in two seconds, he is being revivified as we speak.

Inside the Cavern

We couldn't just leave, we were attacked by these Crystalgolems that shot at us with lightning straight from the skies, it was terrible! We were able to kill three of them and I brought some crystals with me, it seems like they each have a gem that is more white than the others. Maybe this can help or be studied or something?
Well color me impressed Private! Those little limbs of yours carried home something big for once! Well done, son. Now get yourself checked out, don't wanna cook my next meal on your charcoaled butt.
Yes Sarge!

Conducted Research - Several Sources

We have sent more raid groups to the Thundercrack and found something interesting. The entire cavern is decked out with these Thunder-Elemental crystals that charge themselves up at a rapid pace. Once overloaded, they send the excess energy into the skies, quickly creating a potent stormy environment. After careful observation we can conclude that this discharge causes harsh thunderstorms, tornados and wildfire almost weekly.
As such, we, the Botanical Research Commitee move to harvest these crystals as fast as possible and seal them for further investigation.
We, the Beastiarian Research Commitee conducted our own investigation into the affirmentioned crystal golems and found, that the pure white core of theirs is potently stable and functions as a sort of heart to them. Once bested, the core can be harvested and used for further crafting. These golems form naturally inside the cavern by repeated charge and discharge of elemental energy. Harvesting everything would destroy a valuable enemy as renewable material source.
As such, we move to periodically send troops down into the Thundercrack to kill and harvest the crystals cores.
The Rox guild has received the concerns regarding the newfound point of interest and has decided upon the following:
The caverns will be home to a settlement of soulkind. This settlement will be built underground to bypass the natural disaster on the surface. It will act similarely to Ironsprocket, a mining colony meant for both harvesting golem cores and thunder crystals in a sustainable way.

The Arcane Research Center shows peak interest in refurbishing the golem cores into magical items or arcane focus.

Faction Involvement

The Shadowbound are actively trying to raid the Thunderrcrack outpost to protect the naturally forming golems and the crystals themselves.
