Glintstone Delve

WARNING TO MY PLAYERS: This is content relevant to future times. For my DnD party, this content is not yet canon, so refrain from reading.
Construction of Glintstone Delve is moving rocky to say the least. As we thought, building a settlement not only in an area that is not liberated, but is also underground continues to proof difficult. The constant attacks need a solution, or else this project can be voided before even getting off the ground.

The Fogged City

The following text is transcribed from a press conference on the construction process of Glintstone Delve.
This project will be the most ambitious of our time in the New World. We wouuld not be taking on this big a risk were the rewards not tremendous. Please wait with the questions until after my explanation.

The Basics

The reason for building Glintstone Delve lies within the name. After investigating the Thundercrack, we found a huge amount of magically overflowing crystals being created in a rapid manner inside the cavern. From these crystals, more pure, almost non-chaotic storage crystals form, which take on a sentient body in the form of thunderous gem golems. After tasking our esteemed Soulventures with numerous raids on the location, we discovered that we can harvest these pure crystals after defeating the golems. Glintstone Delve will be a settlement whose special purpose will be to harvest both normal crystals, and golem drops with more efficiency than before.

How we will accomplish this

Since the Thundercrack is prone to heavy natural disasters, like storms, tornados and the likes overground, we plan to secure the settlement underground, similar to the way the dwarves did so in the Old World. The Delve will also stay in the Fog and will not be placed in a liberated land, due to the of Fog for the ecosystem to continue functioning. This will put Glintstone in a unique position of constant scuffle with nature, and the stay will most certainly not be as comfortable as here in the main city of Vaporio.

Now, for questions...

Yes, how do you think of bringing people to live in these, frankly, unhabitable conditions?
Thank you. We will offer special rewards for the people living in Glintstone Delve until we figure out how to make their lives easie-
But what exactly will you offer? This is in no way a light thing to stomach as citizen of Ignotas!
We will offer a free stay in the Delve. Meaning no one has to pay for rent, food or other essential needs while living there. Additionally, we will equip everyone living there with a very generous base salary, would they work in the cavern or not, while those in the caverns will be payed even more handsomely. As a last bonus, whenever you come back to Vaporio, until we can guarantee our citizens safety, you will always have a home to return to should you want to. Free of charge.
You are saying "until it is safe", what exactly do you mean by that?
Our Soulforges are working tirelessly together with the Arcane Engineers as well as the Scholars Synthesis Society to build a magical artefact which could shield the settlement from outside influence. This means we could soon have a sort of Fogshield that can protect a wide landscape from the Fog and keep monsters out. Should we succeed with this invention, we could build multiple colonies outside the mainland without worrying too much about enemy raids.
