Kahnt District

The district of Morelia ruled by the Willowthorn family. This district is most connected to the docks, and generally is the district that travelers first interact with.
Notable in the Kahnt district is the Adventurer Guild and the residence of the Willowthorn family.

Demographics

Being so interconnected with travelers, the demographics of the Kahnt district change from year to year. Some adventurers will settle down, while other locals will hear adventures call.

Government

The Willowthorn Family unofficially runs the Kahnt District, providing much of the funding for the Adventurer Guild and being great patrons to the Artisans from the district. Commerce is allowed to happen freely without licenses, though the hired men of the Willowthorn family always seem to know when a bad deal is going on. There is a fair share of smuggling that is "allowed" to occur, and is generally accepted. Public opinion seems to suggest that as long as it is not dangerous or flagrant it is fine. Faelin Rosestone has been trying to get the current head of the Willowthorn family, [Bartholomew Willowthorn] to crack down on smuggling for quite some time.
The Adventurer Guild has a large sway in the governance and enforcement of law in the district, as public opinion of the guild is in high esteem.

Infrastructure

In 820, the Kahnt district's commission for breakwaters were completed, allowing for better docks to be built over the next 5 years. This further allowed a sweeping restructure of the docking system, improving the quality of life for all sorts of cargo vessels and merchants, as well as members of the Morelian community. Since then, the Willowthorn family has gained much influence over the majority of Morelia, as these few small improvements to the area improved the quality of trade and infrastructure so greatly across all districts.
