Wave Crest Legion
The 10th Imperial Legion, Stationed in Salindar
The Wave Crest Legion protects the port of Salindar and the nearby coastal waters, including the delta of the Feran River. As such they are mixed forces unit with small boats and sailing craft to patrol the shores and mounted cavalry to watch the plains and the roads toward Erian and up river to Illyria.

Tactics
The Wave Crest Legion employs a doctrine of combined arms, utilizing expertise in marine, land and mounted combat to fight in the unique terrain surrounding Salindar. The Legion provides coastal protection for the seacoast near the major city and the Feran River river delta. Additionally, it provided protection for the plains to the east and the roadways to the north on the way to Erian. This variety requires the Wave Crest Legion to use a greater variety of unit types than most other Legions within the Empire.
Groups within the Legion are traditionally assigned areas of expertise including coast guard duties, plains and road patrols, city guards or marine duties aboard ships of the First Navy Legion.
Training
The Arcana Legion provides the majority of basic training for new recruits joining the Legion, additional training is provided as new Legionnaires are assigned. To support the combined arms that are commonly employed by the Legion, familiarity with small sailing and rowed crafts, mounted combat and amphibious sea to land fighting. All members of the Legion receive basic training in all of these skills and then receive further detailed training according to the units they are assigned to within the Legion
History
Originally formed soon after the founding of the Empire, the Wave Crest Legion was once part of the First Navy Legion but were separated to allow each to grow to support a more specific command structure and unit composition. Since its founding, it has participated in every major war that the Empire has been involved in and many of its Grand Imperators have retired with honors granted directly from the Emperor himself.
As part of the establishment of the Colonies in the Tre'am Archipelago, members of the Legion were assigned to them and became the initial members of the Jungle Cat Legion.
During the Undead War, the Wave Crest Legion moved inland to support the Thunder Rider Legion and prevent the forces of the dead from burning the central plains of Illyria. The mounted forces of the Legion proved essential in stopping the initial onslaught of the Undead as they swept across the plains to the east of Salindar. Only the quick reactions and the agile speeds of the cavalry were able to meet the forces east of Portglen to halt their advance into the rich farmland in the heart of the Empire.
They spent several years away from their home during this time, while the Serpent Fang Legion protected the coast from Berringar to Salindar.
After returning from the war, much of the focus of the Legion has been rebuilding the coast guard capabilities that were left idle during the years of the war. Additionally, links with the Jungle Cat Legion were reestablished after languishing through the previous war years.
