Session 5: Arrival Report
General Summary
The Exodus has finally arrived and the squad aids in processing tens of thousands of people who finally were able to make landfall. While many were able to get their work done, Loric 's job was disturbed when he spotted a friendly face in the crowd: Isthmus Torq. His long-time mentor and friend, Isthmus Torq greeted Loric with as much will as he could muster. However, his trip had been just as frought as everyone else's, as both he and his son looked frail. It was discovered shortly after the greetings, however, that his wife, Principia Torq, was discovered to be aboard one of the many plague ships.
In another part of the squad, Dreadcrusher had frequent run-ins with Qaraia after he set up an intimidating checkpoint to prevent outsiders from entering the work area. No matter how much she tried, Dreadcrusher would not let her pass, and thus were the two locked in a contest of wills before Qaraia finally relented.
Heinrich Von Kleist had several difficulties in his post as someone who was processing entry for all of the refugees, though he had eventually gotten a hang of it. After the shift, he had realized something: littered throughout the refugees were people with a certain tattoo, a diamond with a cross-wise slash, imprinted upon their clavicles. He also realized, too, that they were scattered in such a pattern as to reduce noticeability. He would later bring this up to the rest of the squad, all of which--save Chancer Fate--would request permission from the Empress to view Imperial Records.
After receiving approval from K'tur Mirad, the squad dove into the Empire's history. After hours of searching, they finally found a link to The Mandate from ancient times led by Dissidua Mandara, the father of the Empire. They had a similar symbol of a diamond with a vertical slash, and the party believed that these two different groups were related, one of the theories being that this emerging group was a splinter sect of the original order. After discovering this, they went and warned the Empress before heading to bed.
While they were searching the archives, Chancer Fate was sleeping and had a dark dream. After wandering through dark halls with the taste of copper in her mouth, she finally found a door and pushed it open. After entering the room, she realized that her hands were wet and sticky from touching the door, while also hearing a dripping noise from the door. After making her way further into the massive chamber, she could here a constantly-repeating thump-thump from the ceiling. In the center of the room was a figure, of which Chancer Fate approached. After conversing, with Chancer being asked many questions about the Self, as well as her goals, it was revealed that she had been chosen by the goddess Andromeda.
Later that night, Loric would find Chancer Fate sitting in the courtyard, thinking to herself. The two would converse for a time, with the medic not making any mention of the dream.
The next day, the squad would be informed that the Empress would be giving a speech in two days' time.
