Scion of Despair Dantus
Dantus, the Leader of the Embrace, conquered nearly the entire continent during the first era. He was the first known dark entity to exist. Stories of him today are very common as the typical "villain" in stories of odd told. While we at the archives have entertained his story, he certainly isn't real like the stories say. What we can say for sure what his impact on the world was obvious. He war established the first alliances and nations of the world.

The Embrace wrote what they believe is his message. The books are called Xerxera's Commentaires Volumes 1-8. Each discusses his views on magic and creating a paradise. They are very incitement reads.

Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Generally, he was typically in good health. There were a few times where he needed to visit a Scion's Glade, which is typical for his species, but he forgone it too long and his health began to suffer.
Normal form:

His normal from appears that of a human man. The man's frame isn't as impressive as you might think. He's skinny and not very muscular. His hair is dark black and messy, it's rarely cleaned. He wears a long purple cloak with light purple lines drawn on it. His body and cloths lack any sort of metal as well. This form is not what is truly important though. It's his true form which is surprising.
True form:

His true form is something we have not seen before among scions. Early accounts suggest he was a Draconis , but later accounts depict him as some sort of bipedal monster. The body is that of a mismatched creature from a nightmare. The head is that of a dragon with curl horns that are as sharp as spears. His eyes are fused into one purple eye with streaks of red and blue around it. Their appearance is that of a cat. The body is large and muscular with dark grey fur all across his body. At a moment's notice he can sprout wings of purple fire to fly on. His tail is that of a fox. Finally, his legs are that of a cow or horse. While he may fail to be intimidating from the artist's rendition, all written records say that the sight for this form could scare the bravest of soldiers. Could this be magic or some sort gut reaction? We don't know.

He was once a master of the arcane magics before he left the circle. After he became a user of dark magic and a master of the others. Whatever happened during his brief absence made him a great deal more magically attuned. While he prefers his normal form, but when the occasion needs his true form, he will transform. While in this form he will use a shepard's cane as a focus of magic. Purely decorative weapon however.

Personal history
His life is heavily detailed in The Embrace's holy texts on him. While very bias, we can gleam some truth from other more reputable sources.
History in general is rare from the time before the Never Ending Crisis, but there is sliver of time which was, the formation of the Scion's Circle. Little is known on what the Crisis was really about, but the scions knew they had to ban together to stop it. Of the five founding members, Dantus was one of them. When it came time to decided what to do about the circle once the crisis finally ended, he was for the unification of the scion species. however, he was alone this decision among its leaders, so he disappeared for some time.
In the meantime, the Scion's Circle disbanded leaving a large power vacuum to be filled. Dantus gathered power from his allies and soon he returned with power unimaginable. He then takes this new army to invade over 1/3 of the continent in a matter in a matter of days. No military force could stop him. This was realistic for the time due to just coming out of the Never Ending Crisis. The world was at his mercy.
For years he took more of the continent, but eventually had to stop due the sheer distance required for him to manage such a large territory. He would be uncontested till the rise of The Union of Pellamulara several years even later.

Morality & Philosophy
He is a man survival, but isn't without mercy. The strong, the ones willing to fight for power, deserve that power. The weak willingly choose to submit to the strong by let them take what they want. However, this does not mean they do not deserve pity. It's the duty of these strong individuals to protect the ones who can't defend themselves and to provide for them. The weak lose their right to live how they wish, the strong get to decide.
This translate into his rule of power. Slavery was common among many cities and was widely encouraged, but for the "protection of the ones who can't protect themselves." He rarely delegated tasks to lesser individuals, only the ones he respected. Weakness is not tolerated among his core allies. The chain of command is strictly followed with promotions determined by the will of the person. Killing your superiors will rise you in rank thus the growth in power is kept. Dantus follows this code strictly. He will kill whomever disagrees with him and protect his "children" that he must protect.
Taboos
He has never in his history fought an unarmed opponent. This is because they can't resist, to resist means you have the strength to fight and to fight means you are worthy of this time.

Motivation
His closest supporters have mentioned his desire to ensure that the world is safe from "what is to come." We examined this line, but not what he was referring too. Beyond this he wanted to bring all the sentient races under his control similar to what the Scion's Circle had to do for the Never Ending Crisis.
Relationships
History
Riss has been a throne in his side for years. He started the rebellion and through the land into chaos in Dantus's eyes. Riss sees a tyrant deserving of death to free the people he rules over.

She was one of the first people to join the Embrace after Dantus's takeover. It wasn't long before she was at the top of the Heirs and this caught his eye. From then on, she was his go to agent for important missions.

Amenophis lead The Union of Pellamulara to rescue Riss. As a result, He's now on Dantus's kill list. No mercy will be shown to the man who breached his defenses and escaped unharmed.

Wilith was part of Dantus inner court of lords and ladies in his land. She was a member and was quite important in it, however she had a distaste for Dantus and his "Embrace", but no malice towards him. He spoke with her on a few occasions, but didn't see a reason to be friends or allies.

They were once allies during the Never Ending Crisis with both of them working side by side. However it's unknown why their relationship deteriorated to this point.
Is the man really, so evil? It sounded to me, he wanted to protect the world from something, but what that would be... Who knows, but I could be wrong. It might have all been a ruse to indoctrinate his supporters.
