Arya van Heppel was born to parents enlisted in the Astra Militarum 158th Androsta Mechanized Regiment . It was several months before Arya was left in the care of grandparents and the mother shipped off to fight Orks in the Argos Cluster, never to be heard of again.
Age took its toll on the grandparents and Arya found herself an orphan with no family at the age of 3. Regimental leaders of the 158th saw she was taken into the care of a Scholem Progenium on Idyll IV, a world dedicated to the worship of The God-Emperor of Mankind .
Through tireless dedication and a zealous streak revealed by punishing a fellow student who did not show the proper respect to the church, Arya was noticed by a visiting member of the Order of the Sacred Rose from the planetary convent looking for new recruits.
Arya took her vows at the age of 14, remarkably young, and committed to a Battle Sister squad, she rose through the ranks over various combat campaigns the Sisters deployed on across the Concordia Sub-Sector . Promoted to Cannoness Preceptor at the age of 30 after the former was beheaded by an Ork Warboss, she saw the sisters in her charge committed to more warzones and in more numbers than ever before. She eventually avenged her predecessor and took the head of the Warboss, whose skull still adorns the Cannoness Preceptors chambers on Idyll IV to this day. Her zealousness in prosecuting the enemies of the Imperium of Man was commended by the planetary cardinal but it would take its toll on the Sisters of the convent whose average age dropped to a mere 27 Terran Standard years old.
Cannoness Preceptor Arya van Heppel died on 15.M42 at the Battle of Hive Gideon on Pelone during a Chaos assault at the age of 47.
