Nula
A small fishing hamlet along the South East coast of Uzush . Most of the houses are simple wood huts, of which a few of them are built on stilts over the water.
The smell of sea salt is strong in the air and the incessant squawking of seagulls fills the air.
As one approaches the middle of this small settlement, 2 buildings stand out. One belongs to the Village Leader, Daksha Hornsunder and is made out of white stone instead of wood like the others. It contains both her place of residence as well as the Leader's office. The other is a sizable 2-story wooden building, with a sign indicating that it is called 'The Lucky Cricket Inn'.
Other notable locations are a small blacksmith and general store though there's not much to look at amongst their wares.
Demographics
Mix of Humans (60%), Half-elves (20%), Halflings (10%) and dwarves (10%). Quite a few of them are poor fishermen, with the dwarves being workers at a small mine nearby. There are a few who provide other services as well such as tailoring and smithing.
Government
Governed by a female dwarf, Daksha Hornsunder is the Village Leader of this place. She runs the place with a strict but fair hand.
Industry & Trade
The village survives on the harvests from the sea. A weekly traveling merchant picks up any excess stock to sell to other villages as well as brings in materials that Nula cannot provide for themselves.
The other export is from the Dwarven mine nearby which produces coal. The coal shipments are handled by Daksha's clerk, her son @Weilo. These shipments are sent on to the Black Burrows Mining Group .
Infrastructure
- One inn with stables.
- One blacksmith
- One town store
History
This small hamlet has existed for about 100 years as just a fishing place. The dwarves arrived about 20 years ago to set up the mines.
Architecture
Most of the residents live in wooden huts. The fishermen live in huts on stilts that stretch out into the waters, with ladders that descend to platforms where they moor their small boats. The houses are also interconnected by wooden walkways.
The Village Leader's home is made out of stone that was quarried from the mines. A gift from the Black Burrows Mining Group .
Geography
The hamlet lies on the shores of the Green Sea. It has access to fresh water from the Mileriale River that cuts through it. The town is surrounded by tropical jungle. 2 roads lead out from the hamlet. 1 to the mines and the 2nd to other places inland.
Natural Resources
Fish from the sea and coal from the mine.
