The Lucky Cricket Inn
A 2-story wooden building made from teak stands in front of you, the wood a nice brown colour. Simple decorative carvings adorn the underside of windows, with 2 thick wooden doors leading to the interior. Just above the door is a wooden sign with the words 'The Lucky Cricket' in large letters, with a picture of a tankard behind it. Next to the inn is a stable with enough room to house about 5 horses and 2 carts comfortably.
Entering through the doors, you see a bar to the left and a staircase to the right. There are a few tables scattered around the room with enough space to handle at least 50 people. Also to the right is a hearth with chairs surrounding it. The fire is only lit at night or during cold days.
The inn is run by a tall human male named Peter Lau. He is currently wiping clean some mugs in preparation for the night crowd but puts the one in his hand down when he sees the party.
"The menu's up there," he says as he thumbs in the direction of a chalkboard behind the counter.
Purpose / Function
Built once the Black Burrows Mining Group set up their mining operations here, the Inn primarily serves the merchants who pass through the area and to house any visiting management.
Design
The inn is square-ish in nature. Everything inside from the furniture to the walls is carved from teak so the place seems rather plain.
Entries
The main entrance is two heavy wooden doors. The only other exit is a backdoor through the storage room in the back.
The inn is surprisingly well lit, with plenty of windows on both the ground and 2nd floor. They are all unlocked and open to let the refreshing sea breeze in.
Sensory & Appearance
The smell of some sort of fishy stew is the first thing that greets patrons to the inn, typical for a place run in a fishing village.
There are a few long and square tables scattered about with places to seat about 4-6 people each. There is also a long bar where patrons can sit and order drinks if they are alone or just want a drink. There is also a hearth with seats around it for those who would like to warm themselves or just have a comfortable place to relax.
Overall, the inn is quite cool as it's proximity to the sea brings in a cool breeze.
Denizens
The owner is Peter Lau, a tall human male. The main patrons are usually the locals as there's not much to do in the hamlet. Occasionally he gets passing merchants or travellers in as well.
