Session 78: Everyone Thinks Kale is a Piece of Shit
General Summary
The session then began on BranchForth 27, 2597 around 8AM in The Poisar Alliance on its East Coast in the forest beyond the grass as the party readied for their assault. Gathering together, Joint Operations LLC tried to decide between varrying strategies of attack. Eventually it was settled that Rodan Spice would try to do recon and find the Benefactor and Atticus' body while the rest of the party attempted to fool the Benefactor that they had brought a tuning fork to trade. Rodan Spice managed to sneak into the estate through a second story window and eventually make his away around to a front room after having spied Atticus and the Benefactor in the ground floor library.
Upon approaching from the front of the estate (and leaving their druid entourage behind them), they spotted a familiar, if perhaps unwelcome figure on the front steps, Oberon. Having been sent by the Stars (Kale's parents or the actual constellations is open for interpretation) he was there to help. Just as he finished explaining, to everyone's shock, Atticus possessed Oberon. The personalities flickered back and forth but eventually the Atticus-Oberon hybrid opened the estate door and called for the Benefactor, offering the deal of the tuning fork for Atticus' body.
The Benefactor declined and a large iron golem jumped from a pedestal to the ground to defend the estate against the intruders. While this exchange with the Benefactor was occurring, Rodan Spice snuck into the library and hid so that when the Benefactor returned he was closed in with him and Atticus' body. However, as the sounds of the fight in the foyer broke out and Rodan Spice learned things were not going well through telepathic communication, he bolted past the Benefactor and out to the foyer to help.
The iron construct in the foyer, 15' tall with a 6'x2' blade was a multi-ton monstrosity. Its gaze when met froze people in place and its blows were heavy including its retorts to melee strikes. However, with a slog of time and energy, the party managed to chip away at the construct while the healers kept them all staved off from death, and finally the construct collapsed. With this, the Benefactor clapped from the opposite side of the foyer saying "Good job", and headed back to his library, asking them to join him. That is where the session ended with the party recovering briefly what they could and continuing back to the library of the Benefactor to deal with what lay ahead.
