Personal history
Kale was raised by adopted parents who were members of a particularly fanatical commune of druids. He has no memory of his original family. His "mother" is a young human who went by the name of Dewlily, his "father" is an ancient elf by the name of Athelas, and was one of the leaders of the commune. As such, Kale was trained in druidcraft from a young age.
As Kale grew older and "wiser", he began to deviate from the commune's teachings. He began to wonder about the stars and the astral existence beyond the natural earth. This switch from natural studies to the astral was expedited after a particularly heated argument with his father and "uncle", Barkly, who was an oak tree. The trees around the commune, who could openly speak due to enchantments by the senior druids, would constantly tease the "strange creature" who lived in their midst, and their teasing turned to anger when they learned the insolent young druid was ignoring their wisdom to look to the stars. Kale would begin to see terrible omens in his reading of the stars, but none of the druids, and definitely not the trees, would take his words seriously. This would lead to an outburst where Kale would set his uncle aflame, Barkly would survive, but it will take centuries for him to return to his magnificence, if ever.
After receiving a most terrible revelation, Kale would leave the commune in secret, believing he would soon be kicked out anyway, and knowing all of his pleas would go unheard. He would venture aimlessly for months, before encountering a group of sand druids who seemed to have at least a passing interest in the stars. Kale would travel with them for a short time, before being left in the Dorsak Desert in the village of Pilf.

Education
Kale's education would have been strongly rooted in Nature (get it?) if he happened to pay attention, he didn't. Most of his knowledge is skewed more towards Religion, from his study of the stars and their religious links. What he lacks in charm and common knowledge, he makes up for in survival skills and awareness of the world around him.
Morality & Philosophy
Kale, growing up secluded in a delusional coven of druids, lacks a strong moral compass. While he takes no joy in seeing others suffer, he often does not consider the true ramifications of his actions. The actions he takes are mostly for self preservation or curiosity, as he tries to uncover the omens revealed to him, and what his part will be in preventing the terrible fate.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Kale is motivated by a combination of curiosity and astral divination. He believes he has a grand part to play in the omens he sees in the stars, but doesn't quite understand what his role is.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Kale has a knack for survival, and while his knowledge in most types of nature is appallingly limited for a druid, he is skilled in the identification of herbs and flowers.
Despite Kale's attention being constantly in the stars, he is quite attentive.
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Incense/herbs, stars, gnomes (for their stout size)
Dislikes: Trees, Tree-Hugging Druids, Dryads
A tall, awkward Firbolg druid who has left his home under the guidance of his own astral prophecies. Has an intense distrust of trees. Because trees are dicks.
