The Gray Family

Family Gray are nobles of The Vale and the rulers of Woldenshire and have been for over a thousand years. They trace their lineage back to the early wolfen clan, and so their sigil is that of the wolf.
The Gray family controls Woldenshire under the title of Ealdorman. Unlike most nobles the Grays appoint the eldest female as heir and Ealdorman rather than the eldest male. They have done this for generations and will not change for anyone, it does tend to cause rifts in the family among the males.
