The Elemental Sundering

The Elemental Sundering was the coordinated plot by the The Wondrous Order to eliminate all influence of the clerics of the The Triad Pantheon throughout Melas and overthrow the governments the nations and cities they influenced.

Certain elements of mage society on Melas, namely the The Wondrous Order, feared power of clerics and wished to destroy the influence and authority of the The Triad Pantheon.   While their dissatisfaction continued to grow and fester, the mages of the Wondrous Order had no real heart for conflict, until they began to be influenced by the Elemental Underlords, sent from their masters on the Elemental Planes. The gods of the Triad Pantheon were fugitive Underlords from the planes and had been discovered on the Isle of Melas having established themselves as gods. The Underlords influenced and sometimes took over various high-level mages and others in established society to drive the Wondrous Order to action.   A coordinated set of plots and machinations around the continent eroded popular support for Mantidism, Phoenism and Eachism, effectively destroying the Triad Pantheon and erasing its influence from Melas.
