Aeons are neutral (and occasionally lawful) outsiders that roam the planes. Despite generally appearing alone, aeons are linked by a species-wide hivemind that binds them. They generally appear as abstract swirls of quintessence, only rarely taking humanoid forms for better interaction.
Born on the Astral Plane when different metaphysical thoughts interact, aeons are considered to be the entities that maintain multiversal balance. They do not possess demigods, for those are unnecessary. However, some think that a primordial deity may be further involved.
Despite their neutral alignment, they are not native to the Boneyard. They often use the plane as a central staging point, however, using portals established by the plane's native psychopomps.
Aeons are considered the most alien of all known outsiders.
