Svirfneblin

Svirfneblins, or undergnomes, are small, serious creatures bereft of much of the joy of their gnomish cousins. They live almost exclusively beneath the ground, usually far enough below the surface that their homes are made within the Underdark. Like their cousins, they are physically weak, but unlike their cousins, they do not make up for it with physical hardiness. Instead, they are far quicker to catch threats both physical and mental, and remain constantly on guard.
Almost universally, svirfneblins despise duergar due to a long history of conflict in the darkness. Strangely, they hold less animosity towards the drow on a universal level, likely due to the more brutal drow houses ignoring the small creatures in favour of more useful prey.
