Ixlena

Ixlena, the Goddess of Prophecy and Foresight   Ixlena, the Goddess of Prophecy and Foresight, is a central figure in the pantheon of the Thirteen. Born as the middle child of Xunos and Ondra, she possesses the unique gift of foreseeing future events and sharing her divine knowledge with mortals.   A Compassionate Mission   Ixlena looked upon the world her parents had created and was filled with compassion for the mortals who dwelled upon it. She saw their lives filled with uncertainties and the fear of the unknown. Recognizing the gift she could offer, Ixlena descended from the divine realm to walk among the people of Istria. She took it upon herself to spread the faith of the Thirteen and share her knowledge of their existence.   The Gift of Foresight   During her travels among mortals, Ixlena encountered individuals who displayed exceptional qualities and the potential to shape the world in meaningful ways. It was for these chosen few that Ixlena bestowed her sacred gift of foresight. Through her divine touch, they gained the ability to glimpse into the future, to foresee events and make decisions guided by this knowledge.   These individuals became known as Seers, and they played vital roles in their respective societies. The visions granted by Ixlena allowed them to advise leaders, foresee calamities, and guide their people toward prosperity and enlightenment.   The Oracle's Temples   To honor Ixlena's presence and teachings, grand temples and oracles dedicated to her worship were constructed throughout the land. These centers of divination were where Seers would gather to meditate, interpret their visions, and provide guidance to those who sought their wisdom.   The most famous of these temples, known as the Oracle's Sanctum located in the city of Ylese, is said to be where Ixlena herself imparted her gift to the first Seer. Pilgrims from far and wide would journey to these sacred sites, seeking insights into their destinies and the future of their families, cities, and nations.   Ixlena's Legacy   Ixlena's legacy as the Goddess of Prophecy and Foresight endures to this day. Her gift to the world brought light to the uncertainty of mortal existence, offering hope and guidance in the face of adversity. Through her divine intervention, Ixlena nurtured a deeper connection between the divine and the mortal realms, fostering an understanding of the Thirteen that would last for generations.
They believe the power to see is the power to prepare, but they have yet to realize the true strength in foresight, and that is the ability to change. The future is not so rigid and brittle that it cannot be bent and shaped once viewed.

The Seer's Crystal   The Seer's Crystal is a sacred artifact connected to the Goddess Ixlena and her gift of foresight. This crystal is a transparent, multifaceted gemstone, resembling a clear pool of water. It is believed to hold the power to amplify a Seer's visions and reveal deeper insights into the future.   The crystal is often used by Seers and their apprentices during divination ceremonies and meditative rituals. When gazing into the crystal's depths, a Seer can achieve a heightened state of focus and clarity, making their visions more vivid and accurate. It is also said that the crystal can help channel Ixlena's divine energy, allowing Seers to communicate with the goddess herself during moments of great importance.   The Seer's Crystal is considered a symbol of hope and enlightenment, and it is passed down through generations of Seers.
