Lord/Lady

Duties

A Lord/Lady is granted authority over lower knights and will often hold positions of command in units of knights. They will occasionally be granted a levy of 2-3 knights to command directly.

Responsibilities

Lords/Ladies are expected to be equipped with better equipment for both them and their retinue which would consist of 2-3 low-knights (and their retinues). Granting Lords/Ladies reasonable military power within their lands usually around 12-36 foot soldiers and 3 knights. All of these are expected to protect the several villages within the Lords/Ladies' fief/fee. During war, they hold the same responsibilities as knights however they must also pledge themselves and their lieges to their lord's army until the war is over. Furthermore, half of their earnings are entitled to their liege barony as tribute.

Benefits

Members of this rank will often have their knight's fee raised to include greater lands raising their personal fee into the range of 15-30GP. They are also entitled to half of their lieges fees which can amount to another 12-24GP. They often use this increased wealth to improve upon their manors or buy new lands as an investment.
