Brightpeak

Situated on and around a cliff, the grand city of Brightpeak is always busy. Founded almost a millennia ago, the city is home to nearly 50,000 souls.

Government

Ruled by the Council of 10, Brightpeak is subdivided into 5 districts.

Central Market

Under the direct control of the Trade Master himself, the central market is well stocked and well guarded.

The Scholar's Walk

Home to all three of the city's institutions of higher learning, the Scholar's Walk is always a lively place. One does not have to look very far to find entertainment or activity.

Cerulean Terraces

Constructed on a small rise in the topography, the wealthier denizens of this district pay to maintain a brick fence along it's borders.

The Concordat

Hosting most of the administrative and bureaucratic building, the Concordat District is a very impressive area if noticeably less lively than the rest of the city.

The Blackstones

Named for the ever-present soot and ash of industry, the 'Stones is by far the largest of the districts. Nearly one third of the city interior. The Blackstones is also home to nearly half the housing in the city.

Guilds and Factions

The Ravenlance Family

Brightpeak is the ancestral home of Ravenlance Family and the Home of current patriarch Hallander Ravenlance. While he is more than willing to let the day-to-day management of the city be handled by the Council, much of the city's national/international interactions are run through the Steelmaster's office.

The Guilds

There are two main guilds in Brightpeak, both with a council representative.

The Mining Guild

As Brightpeak was a mining settlement long before it was an educational and manufacturing locale, the Mining Guild is one of the oldest organizations in the city. Controlled by the Master of Mines it's authority is limited in jurisdiction but absolute.

The Steelworker's Guild

Founded by the powerful Ravenlance Family in the years following the Treaty of 523, the Guild quickly grew as demand for weapons and armor grew. The Ravenlances quickly began to convert the Steelmaster's Office and Council Seat into a hereditary office.

The Schools

Rivan Academy of Arcane and Natural Sciences

Started 700 years ago, in response to the loss of information during the Sundering, RAANS  has since become quite an established institution of higher learning. Comparable to any the Elven Kingdom's would have. It is comprised of three schools

• School of Alchemy
• School of Law

Pitwicken's College of Musical Knowledge

Started 223 years ago by Felcren Panadri Pitwicken- F.P. Pitwicken. Today it is managed by his son Eustice Pitwicken This Bard college offers two main training regimen

• School of Glamor
• School of Lore

Hall of the Southern Eye

Centered around the temple to Batadur the Archives are a vast collection of knowledge managed by the Order of the Lanterned Eye.
