Pentekonter

Even fewer in number than the Hoplite and Enomotarch, Pentekonter preside over the Enomotarchs and answer to Lochagos. They are taken from successful (or surviving) Enomotarch.

Qualifications

The firm belief in Ares Mars Olympia & loyalty to Polemarch Leonidas Olympia. Military prowess & medical clearance. Intelligence.

Duties

Lead the Pentekostys & disseminate orders from the Lochagos down to the Enomotarch. Think on their feet during battle, to ensure the least loss of life for the Morai, and glory to Ares, their patron.

Benefits

A few luxuries exist for Pentekonter, including prototypes of Kopis Industries tech fresh from Hephaestus Vulcan Olympia & Icarus Areides, and better lodgings. Pentekonter are the first rank, who receive direct training and access to Ares & Polemarch Leonidas. Those who are allowed to personally and individually worship their beloved Olympian.

History

Ancient Sparta first had the Pentekonter, warriors so bold they gained renown. They are no more hallowed now, which is to say, the Pentekonter part crowds when they walk, create silences around them when they speak. They are warrior-priests of Ares, and commune directly with their god.
