Death Curse

Some supernatural curse lies across Chult affecting certain abilities of divine magic, most notably the ability to resurrect or revivify the dead. It is beginning to creep into peoples lives in more subtle and sinister ways....
Perhaps linked to The Grand Architect and the Soulmonger.
There are some for whom the Death Curse is more than rumours, those who have been resurrected through magic in the past have suffered a slow decay and sickness, such as Grandfather Zitembe, Jessamine and perhaps her daughter. However a slew of nightmares affected the whole population of Port Nyanzaru and perhaps elsewhere, and many within the city are now feeling the Curse take root in their souls.
