History

Luacan was only a few years old when he manifested his first sign of psychic powers. Like all children on Albatanic who show psychic talent was submitted to the Sons of Avalon. The Knight-Mystics examined the child and quickly realised that he was the child of prophecy. A great and powerful psyker who would save the Chapter in a time of need. Luacan was quickly inducted as an aspirant to the chapter and quickly began to learn to control his psychic powers. Inducted into the druidic order of the Knight-Mystics Logan quickly began to fulfil his prophecy. He was honoured by his brothers for the deeds they knew he would achieve. Slaying the Ork Warboss Mad Dok Uzzrig, holding the breach at Alaxion Hive and his greatest achievement, binding the Bloodthirster Ux’al’athon. Each deed was well-known long before he performed them.
It was the binding though that was his greatest challenge. For one hundred and fifty years, Luacan searched for the true name of the Bloodthirster. Finding it finally within the depths of a long abandoned xenos temple. Simply reading the Bloodthirster's true name, blinded Luacan. Now all he sees is that Bloodthirster's name, written in burning blood, filling him with rage. Yet Luacan resisted the corruption and ordered the construction of a small chest carved from black stone. Inside the chest, he inscribed the Bloodthirster’s true name and set out with a taskforce of Hearthguard to imprison the daemon. Luacan and the Terminators struck fast, arriving just as a band of World Eaters summoned the Bloodthirster. With an immense psychic effort and a heroic defence by the Hearthguard, Luacan bound and sealed the Bloodthirster within what would be forever known as the Obsidian Casket.
The final fate of the Obsidian Casket is known only to the Inner Circle of the Sons of Avalon. It was the completion of this deed that had Luacan raised to the rank of Archmystic. Now he aids the chapter from their homeworld, having been permanently crippled by binding Ux’al’athon, putting his psychic prowess to unravelling the threads of fate.
Despite all his glories and heroism, Luacan is regarded as a grim figure by his brothers. He grumbles at the hollowness of his deeds. Limping through the corridors of Ar-lic, leaning on his force stave or having Oathkeeper Ealhstan help him. Ealhstan is Luacan’s constant shadow, should his will ever weaken and the name of the Bloodthirster overtake him.
