Hel Guard

The Hel guard are the professional troops in Helkirk. They are recognized by the color purple and the violet rose of the Modeen family crest.
Compared to most cities, Helkirk has an overabundant amount of Soldiers due to the vast amount of mercenaries that come to the city on there way to Altonley.

There are Clergy as well, all swear to the church but most pay extra homage to Terak.They carry the same ranks but would add the following,all answer to the Bishop of Stanterton.

Culture

They react quick to trouble but have been known to look the other way if the gold is right. Currently they have been ignoring the Shakes district, maintaining the Rivergate and concentrating on the Inner downs Districts.The shakes have been a sore spot for the Ruling class for many years and the helguard have been told to only patrol during the day in double size.
The Downs has been known as the "den of Thieves" by the nobility and recent changes in the treasury has allowed a massive influx of gold to be used strengthen up the Helguard presence.Recently a new Barack has been built to help,the eastern barracks.
The most aggressive officers in the ranks have been sent to the downs to "clean" the streets.

Public Agenda

The main goal for the Guard is to keep the city safe and eradicate the organized criminal element of the Downs, in and out.
