Key and dagger
Structure
Master
one master thief in charge, the guild-master is called "master of Keys" Only the Taskmasters know who the master is.Taskmaster
The most important lieutenants are the “day-master” and “night-master” who remain on duty in the guildhall to keep an eye on things when the guild-master is not there. Also there is the newly appointed "Master of gifts." The night-master is ultimately responsible for most of the guild's income. This position is held by Vendir The Day-master is responsible for keeping the key and daggers looking legit and is the Face of the guild to the local authorities. This position is held by Falyia The guild below this level is made up of a series of “gangs within a gang.” Since the guild-master cannot keep his finger on the pulse of every single operation that is going on, most types of crime of the city have a taskmaster to oversee day to day activities. The taskmaster reports to the guild-master at regular intervals. Master of Gifts, a new addition to the level of Taskmaster, He is the spiritual leader of the guild and is the adviser to the master.Keys
Below the taskmaster are the Keys. they are thieves who are in charge of individual jobs. They tend to be the most experienced thieves in a group. They are responsible for reporting the outcome of attempted jobs and for turning over the guilds share. They are the Team leaders of their specialty. They are also the ones to assign a key to a cell for certain jobs. For example if a cell is to carry out a Burglary , then Jelask would assign the appropriate member of a cell as the "Key" for that mission. the "keys"- Marjgette,Dance hall

the Daggers
Below the team leaders are the rest of the guild members called Daggers .An assassin is a little different, they are called shadow knives after the original guild of assassins who joined the Keys. All are assigned to "cells" where they spend much of their time working on jobs assigned by the guild, and planned by the taskmasters and team leaders. The idea of cells is to make them a cohesive unit instead of chaotic gangs. These Cells have been the back bone of the organizations success. Initiative is encouraged. All thieves develop their own network of friends, enemies, and contacts. Most cells are a combination of specialists, some might have an assassin as well as a burglar and pick pocket. Diversity is encouraged as all members are here for the same reason.Or at least act like they are. All members pay homage to Darman but a few are now devote of the Gift, they are now calling themselves Givers instead of Daggers. This has annoyed a few of the traditionalists but it does have the backing of the master of keys so is allowed to continue. This has made the guild take a heavy hand towards Death and murder more then the usual markings of making profit.Culture
The guild does filter gold back into the community by helping out the poor. This has made them popular with the lower end of society.
the helguard ( Helkirks town guards ) are paid off very well to turn a blind eye.
The guilds belief is to make profit but maintain a balance with society.
The Shadow arm has over recent years become indoctrinated into the faith of the Icy Breath. This is tolerated by the rest of the guild as this belief is filling the coffers faster then ever before. The business of death is a busy one. Most members of the Shadow arm worship Darmon but do show respect to the Givers power.
Recently a skull has been added to the official banner of the guild to represent the cults influence, arguments were raised and it was both day and night masters who silenced them all saying "it is the will of the Key master".
Since that time there has been grumbling and finger pointing, but nobody has moved agasint the shadows, or the master of gifts. Profits are coming in at record numbers so this keeps the majority happy.
Assets
The guild owns a few taverns across the city as well as a brewery. These are known to all locals of Helkirk. Other locations are need to know and only known by those in the same arm.
History
The Guild appeared on the scene in 94 AN . At that time the criminal activity in Helkirk was chaotic at best, there were many small gangs and two of the largest, the daggers and the Keys decided it best to work together and scare off the others. Over a few years known as "the years of burning rooftops" the gang warfare poured into the streets. This in turn caused the Grand duke to cleanse the streets of criminal sorts.
This played right into the guilds hands, those that did not join them and be hidden from the authorities(mostly of whom had been paid off to look the other way) would be busted and put into the dungeons or sent to the River wardens.
