The shadow knives
Structure
Master
The Shadows are lead by the Key of Shadow,Dark ones
These are the proven ones. They work independently and are rarely seen even at the house of shadows. These are the assassins that get special missions, outside of Helkirk. They hold council with Tolmeck once a month, and it is at these times the house is closed to all Shadow knives. It is unsure who they are as they have been members before any of the current members can remember.Blade's
These are the day to day trainers for the younger recruits, they are found at the house of shadows at all times and do not do missions anymore. There are currently three High bladesShadows
Shadows are those that have made a renowned kill. They can speak during ceremony. there are three in number.Knife
These are the regular members who have yet to prove themselves.there are currently 6 members of this rank.Culture
The guild is committed to the Givers cause, almost all Shadow knives are members of the givers. There are a few who have stayed away from the Givers and these are held in contempt by the others. Two Shadows and one blade still hold back from joining the cult.
This is causing a rift in the ranks as the shitty jobs are given to the unbelievers. While the good high paying ones are given to fellow givers, it is only a matter of time before something happens.
Public Agenda
To those of Helkirk, it is well known that the guild exists but little known of the cult and its association with the Key and dagger. The Grand duke himself has even used the services of the guild, or so the Knives say.
Assets
The guild owns the house of shadows and has two safe houses that are know to Shadows and higher. Rumor has it they own one of the great merchant houses as well. But that could simply be a rumor.
Tenets of Faith
the Cult of the Icy Breath stands a world apart from the sacristies. While they agree death is sacred, they neither believe undead violate death’s sanctity, nor hold that resurrection or other life-restorative magic is wrong, if those it is used on would linger to share the gift of death widely. They believe death is the only significant and beautiful thing of which the mortal races are capable. They celebrate it and bring others to it—with or without their permission. If a cultist meets an imprisoned man, she kills him to set him free. If a cultist finds a hungry child, he kills her rather than feeds her. The cult believes death is the highest state any mortal might aspire to, but adherents make the sacrifice of continuing to live for a while, so they might help others across. When all mortals feel Mormekar’s icy breath, they’ll find true peace and bliss within the god’s embrace, for when the last funeral dirge ends, Mormekar will free of his awful duty. Therefore, cultists kill as many people as they can before they die. They use whatever means they can to achieve their goal, though the cult accepts that there’s room to consider individual talents, and creative expression. A general can get a lot more people killed than a thug, so members are not opposed using both lawful and chaotic methods. Obviously, the rest of the Mormekim oppose these maniacs fervently
