the Seven Great houses of the Borderlands

The borderlands have seven ruling families called houses,these rule the lands in the name of the Empire .Six of them are ruled by a Duke/Duchess while the seventh is called the grand duke who presides over all. Together they form a council that make the day to day choices for the grand duchy of the Borderlands and the welfare of its people.
