Library of Rissandal

The Library of Rissandal sits on the western border of Treyvol, built during the Years of Reprieve after the First War of Hardavan ended. Designed and planned by students who had grown up during the end of the First War of Hardavan they requested permission from the king of Treyvol to build and recieved it. They wanted a peaceful place where they could learn. After they managed to gather enough donations, including a very large one and a few sponsers, they began construction.
Sprawling over nearly a square mile of land, the Library of Rissandal is considered the safest place for hundreds of miles. During the Second War of Hardavan, nearly a century later, it became a favorite spot for secret meetings, as there was no worry of getting killed within its walls.
Anyone who enters is required to sign the Regulations Scroll, after which they are welcome anytime. Most visitors to the Library of Rissandal stay for a day or two, seeking respite from their daily lives, though some have been known to remain for weeks. The library, true to its name, is filled with books. Every room, even those designed for games, holds at least a few volumes. Kitchens are set in various areas of the library, welcoming anyone to find something to eat. Each kitchen has a designated cook, always willing to teach one how to cook if desired or simply to provide delicious meals.
Children find the library attractive because of the exploratory nature of the building. There are small rooms, big rooms, closets, passageways and nooks in every area of the library, making it exciting and adventurous.
To maintain its peaceful atmosphere, alcohol is prohibited, as is physical touch of any manner. This helps keep enemies apart and friends from fighting. While there are no bedrooms in the library, those who choose to sleep on sofas or chairs are never disturbed. On special holidays and occasions, the library sees a crowd of visitors who come to make friends and settle in for a night or two, chatting and enjoying each other's company.
Notable events include visits from famous artists, actors, and even a highwayman, who once enthralled a crowd with stories. Cider is passed around on winter nights, and iced tea is served during the summer during storytelling sessions.
