Rinzaro (rin-ZAR-oh)

Emperor Rinzaro

As part of the tenth dynasty, Rinzaro was emperor of the Lanarian Empire at the time first contact was made with the Vancorran civilization in 3933.
Some have criticized him for not doing more to make sure the two cultures had better relations from the start. Imperial citizenship and the full protection of the law were not extended to the Vincarans until years after first contact, after numerous violent uprisings. Before judging Rinzaro too harshly, however, one should consider the unprecedented nature of the two civilizations meeting, the distance between the imperial capital and Vancorra, and the slow speed of communications in that time period. His response to the situation was less than ideal in hindsight, but understandable under the circumstances.
