Sunbeam

A magical bead given to all of those that consider pledging themselves to Meridian. The Sunbeams (also known as iliachtida) are beads formed from the sap of the Great Tree in Heliopolis. Drops of sap are collected from the tree and polished into a bead. Because of the Tree’s position and the eternal sunlight of Meridian, these beads are able to hold the energy of Meridian very effectively.
The Sunbeams allow a Shard-Bearer to take a glimpse of their home world. By infusing the force of Meridian into the bead, you’ll take a bird’s eye view of your home world as if your consciousness is split between where you stand and what you see. Rather than a vision, the view of your world feels incredibly real. It’s a glimpse at the world that you thought destroyed, and if you focus on a particular place or a particular person, you’ll find the view shifting rapidly to it. No one you watch is aware of your presence but simply continues about their daily life, whatever that is.
According to Meridian, it also acts as an anchor that tethers their soul to their world in the Timestream. With it, their world can’t entirely disappear, so eventually, they can go home.
