Kingdom of the Netherlands
Government
The Netherlands is a constitutional monarchy, where the queen plays only a symbolic role, and the real power lies with elected politicians and bureaucrats.History
Despite being a fairly small nation, the Netherlands was able to punch above its weight in the colonial era, and it its crown achievement being its slow conquest of Indonesia from the 1600s all the way to the early 1900s where it consolidated most of the large island chain under its control.Indonesia
Indonesia is a chain islands with varying sizes, but a collectively large landmass. Indonesia was initially colonized by the Dutch East India Company, but was eventually incorporated into the kingdom proper. The islands range from civilized with long history of trade and interaction with the outside world, to further southwest where many islands are portals to a past of to tribal untouched jungles.Foreign Policy
Similar to the British Empire, the Netherlands wants to consolidate and maintain the status quo and peace, rather than try to expand their lands.Economy
Because of their colony in Indonesia, the Netherlands actually controls a great degree of the world's rubber production, as well as a sizable amount of oil production as well.Culture
Dutch culture bears a strong connection and resemblance to the of the culture (not politics so much) of Nazi Germany, as they share a similar language as well as customs. The Netherlands has just as many of its own however, and has a richer colonial heritage than Germany, and has brought many Indonesian cultural items into its own.Remove these ads.
