Ancient Elven Cities
Before the Old World, many cities existed amongst the Elven peoples. Eventually, something known as the schism happened, turning the Elves against each other and even creating war between them. Many of the cities have been lost to time, but some have been found and explored, partially or in full.
One of the ancient Elven cities was called Talmora, and it was located in the heart of Zoluren. The city was once known for its incredible architecture, which featured towering spires and intricate stonework that were said to have been crafted by the greatest Elven architects of the time. However, Talmora was destroyed during the Elven Wars, which saw the various Elven factions battling for control over the realm. The exact circumstances of Talmora's destruction are not clear, but some legends suggest that it was sacked by an army of dark elves who sought to claim the city's magical artifacts.
Another Elven city that no longer exists is known as Amaroth. This city was located in the area now known as the Desolate Wastes, a barren and inhospitable region that is said to be cursed. Little is known about Amaroth, as the city was lost long before any modern scholars or adventurers could explore it. However, legends suggest that Amaroth was a center of Elven magic, and that the city was home to some of the most powerful wizards and enchanters of the ancient world. Some even say that the city was built on a ley line, a powerful magical current that flowed through the earth and gave the city its power.
A third lost Elven city is called Arvandor, and it is located deep within the Ilithi region, within the heart of the Hex'oatl Empire in the Whistling Wood. Arvandor was said to be a city of great beauty, with sparkling fountains and fragrant gardens that were tended by the city's inhabitants. The city was destroyed during a great cataclysm, which some believe was caused by an Elven mage who had delved too deep into the mysteries of the universe. However, Arvandor's ruins are said to be haunted by the spirits of its former inhabitants, and many believe that the city's greatest secrets still lie buried beneath the rubble.
Nalthuun was once a grand elven city, located in the heart of the Therengian forest known as the Drakweald Forest. The city was known for its magical prowess, with wizards and sorcerers studying and practicing their craft in the many towers and halls throughout the city. However, one day, a great disaster struck the city, and it was destroyed in a cataclysmic event. No one knows for sure what caused the disaster, but many believe it was a magical experiment gone wrong. Today, Nalthuun is a ruined and abandoned city, with only the most daring adventurers venturing into its crumbling towers and abandoned halls. Legends speak of powerful magical artifacts hidden deep within the city, waiting for someone brave enough to find them.
Eryndor was once a thriving elven city, located in the heart of what is now the Desolate Wastes. The city was renowned for its beauty, with sparkling fountains, intricate gardens, and gleaming marble architecture. However, one day, the city was invaded by an army of orcs, and despite valiant resistance from the elven defenders, the city was ultimately destroyed. Today, Eryndor is a ruined and haunted city, with the ghosts of its former inhabitants said to haunt the abandoned streets and buildings. Legends speak of a powerful elven artifact, said to be hidden deep within the ruins of the city, but no one has ever been able to find it.
