Baron's Own Militia
Serving as the standing army of Therengia, The Baron's Own are full time soldiers who've either volunteered for a life of service, or have been paid handsomely for their unique skills to serve at the Baron's pleasure.
Official records indicate that the total force of the Baron's Own is approximately 300,000 soldiers, split amongst headquarters, infantry, cavalry, medical, artillery and even magical support divisions. These divisions are broken down even further into battalion and company levels, each commanded by various officers who're given far greater training than the average soldier. The militia is ultimately overseen by the 'Militant Marshal', Amhearst Gearing

Composition
Equipment
Equipment varies by company, division, battalion, and squad based on their assigned roles, but some things remain similar regardless. Each soldier (unless they're in medical or magical support) is issued chain mail and a long sword as part of their garb, as well as a black cloak. Many of the infantry companies have adopted shields to go with their cloaks, or have thrown aside the sword in favor of a pike (a sort of anti-cavalry approach), but the cloaks remain consistent amongst all of the soldiers.
Logistics
Recruitment
To serve as a volunteer in the Baron's Own is fairly straightforward; nearly every city has a city watchmen who can point you to a recruiter, or you can simply find the recruiter yourself. One needs only to be an adult (by the standards of their species) in good health and loyal to the Baron in order to enlist.
