Socii Reserve (Sock-Ee-ee)
Owned and operated by the extremely wealthy and popular Great House of Hapti, the Socii Reserve is the largest, most lauded, and most lucrative gladiator training facilities in the entire Great Kingdom.
Volunteers, free men, prisoners, slaves, convicts, and foreign mercenaries come to train here, both to seek fame (or death) in the arena, or to hone their skills (typically in unarmed or lightly-armed combat with a capacity of nearly fourteen hundred trainees at any given time.

Purpose / Function
Gladiatorial combat is one of the most lucrative occupations one can be involved in within the Great Kingdom; every city, village, and town has some form of arena or theater where combat takes place for entertainment and sport. But on the grandest stage, within the halls of the Ma'at Atrium, a winning gladiator can sometimes earn their body weight in gold and silver each year, if they continue to win and not die.
Nearly all of the Great Houses, and many of the Lesser Houses, feature gladiator training schools, in hopes that their fighters will bring glory to the name of the House; no school is more revered, more steeped in honor and glory, than that of the Socii Reserve.
Hundreds of gladiators train there each day; some are slaves forced to fight, others prisoners condemned to die, while others still are volunteers, hoping to win fame, coin, and glory before the masses. Regardless of their reason for being there, they are all trained in one undeniable skill: killing.
Socii, unlike the majority of the other schools, also features a less-famous training regimen, focusing on fighters who travel to Edeli to hone their bodies and minds into weapons; it also serves as the militant and martial training ground for a multitude of monks, who train in often eclectic and exotic combat forms. Some of these monks do, eventually, find themselves in the arena for coin and glory, but many train within the walls of the Reserve solely to test themselves against their greatest enemy: themselves.

"Within these walls, the blades are blunted. But you must learn quickly, because those found in the arena will cut you in two." -Unknown Gladiator, circa 202
