After over 30 years of conquest the Empires forces arrive at the borders of Somerstead, ready to invade. On the other side of the country sits a battalion from the Alliance, unable to enter the neutral country without backlash but unwilling to allow the imperials more land.

The Imperials having engulfed nearly 15 other countrys in their conquest of the world arrive at the borders of Somerstead, a strictly neutral country. As negotiations between the imperials and Somerstead continued on the other side of the country a battalion from the alliance is gathering near the border. Somersteads Neutral policys preventing the alliance from entering with a large force without political backlash, the force sits anxiously discontent to continue allowing the Imperials to continue their conquest. Inside the capital of Somerstead a small group of drow kills a group of gate guards and opens the gate to Somerstead allowing the Imperial forces to flood the streets. It isent known what happened inside the negotiation rooms of somerstead only that the emperor Horus left and the High Lord of somerstead was never seen again. It didnt take long for news of what had occured to reach the alliance battalion. The wood elf general Verilore ordered his battalion to march into somerstead and stop the imperials upon hearing this news even if it ment fighting the forces of Somerstead to stop the Imperials. The alliance met no resistance from Somerstead and were allowed nto the capital by the west guard who were still holding a section of the city from the imperials. what ensued was a chaotic battle with no official winner, over the course of the next 2 days imperial and alliance forces clashed in the streets of Somerstead eventually a force of alliance forces led by Verilore pushed thru to the castle were Horrus was giving orders from and began tearing thru his elite forces. Although Verilore was able to reach the chambers were Horrus was held up he had already fell back. Horrus ferious at the loss and ordered his right hand mage to cast a terrible spell on the land, it is said the skys went dark before a terrible expolsion occured, scorching the earth leaving the once beautiful capital in ruins. Verilore and his men are assumed to have died in the inferno. The alliance fueled by the sacrifice of this Verilore, the world shaken by the destruction of somerstead, the Imperials fueled by lust for power and emboldened by the display of power from their country a century long war would follow these events and forced everyone to face the reality that the world had changed.
