Personal history
Lord Arthur Steel was an uncommon sort in the Steel Family, instead of focusing on the trade and business of the House he was instead found with the House Steel Men at Arms and local militia forces, training and then eventually fighting in the patrician arena, though only in the 'lower class' arena even as a 3rd son and 4th Heir he was given more freedoms than his siblings, but he could not do anything too outlandish.
However his days in the Arena would come to bite him one day, a duel gone wrong, a monster gone crazed, the details change depending on who you ask, but one day, Arthur entered the Arena in fit health, and left the Arena with a scar on his cheek and an empty sleeve.
Instead of living out the rest of his life as a hermit noble, Arthur and some loyal Men at Arms worked together to make an iron arm for the young Steel, it took most of the gold given to him and much time, but it was completed, just in time for the disinherited Heir to become lord, as tragedy struck the House Steel taking its Lord, Lady and the rest of its heirs.
