American Royal Military Academy
The American Royal Military Academy, otherwise known as ARMA or simply West Point, is one of the premier military institutes in the Kingdom of America. The Academy's navy counterpart is the American Royal Naval Academy.
Public Agenda
The American Royal Military Academy is the foremost institute for training officers for the American Army.
History
The American Royal Military Academy was established as the Officer and Engineering Drill School in 1791 by King Henry I in order to drill army officers. King Henry was very critical of the American over reliance on militia, and saught to bring state militias under the command of the Federal Army. This displeased many who would become the Republican Party, including many prominent statesmen such as Thomas Jefferson. However, many others, including Anthony Wayne, Earl of Chatham argue for the creation. A Prussian-style General Staff was desired by King Henry, and thus commanded Lord Wayne to establish the school.
The OEDS was redesignated as the American Royal Military Academy in 1803 at the resurgence of the Franco-American Wars after the death of Crown Prince Louis Ferdinand.
The Academy's alumni include that of King William I of America and King Pierre I of Haiti.
