Edward III
King
Edward III was King of America after the death of his uncle, Henry II. The son of Archduke Augustus and grandson of Grand Duke Andrew, during his reign, he attempted to curve the rampant corruption within the federal government to mixed results. The culmination came in the cooperation between himself and Chancellor James A. Garfield in eliminating the patronage system.
During the The Great War, he hosted the Congress of Columbia, wherein he attempted to keep out of the war and the affairs of Europe. However, nations like Canada entered the war regardless, while Hawaii assisted the Empire of Japan during their campaign, and Haiti attempted to take advantage of the contempt in Jamaica. Edward did manage to keep America out of the conflict.
He was believed to have at least one anonymous male lover during his lifetime, expressing the affair in his diary. A lifelong combatant of depression, he was found dead in Columbia Palace from suicide in 1924.
