East-Rubeus
What lies beyond the steel walls dividing east and west can only be described as a constant nightmare turned reality. The Pulse destroyed all that was.
It rose everything, that was dead once more, be it sapient, sentient or less; even dead plants rose once more turning the eastern side of this formerly wonderous homeland of the high elves into an abyssal representation of all that we fear.
Ruled by the Supreme Abolisher Rex Tarr, our charismatic leader from 4000 years ago, and that with a boney fist.
But we persevere, we won't get turned undead to join our still rightful leader.
We choose life and life will reign over death!
By the name of the Grand Abolisher; viva la Mudrost!
Geography
East-Rubeus is a paradisic savannah turned into a true nightmare. Everything that once lived returned giving the region its grey and red look seething of dread and despair.
The rivers flowing through the lands are poisonous, the lakes acidic; the mountains as black as its leader's soul.
But the Deadlands are not as dead as the name describes as unlife reigns supreme.
Flowers, ferns and trees are present but twisted into ugly nightmare-inducing undead variations of their former natural beauty.
The atmosphere is dark, littered with black ligaments of the Necromancer turning it into a slideshow of nightmarish silk.
Breathing the air might not be deadly or harmful, but with every breath taken one feels the crippling hopelessness of life digging deep into one's very soul.
To get to the capital city, you have to pass through multiple small unnamed villages, where the unlife is thriving; lowly skeletons, mummies and zombies working to appease their undead leader. They appear mindless, but within each and every undead resides suppressed personality.
Approaching at the east coast the enormous temple site of the Sanctum of the dead rises grim into the sky. The former place of eternal rest and holy prayers got turned into the pompous high castle of Rex Tarr. An impossible to storm area littered with devoted Revenants, Liches and Death knights.
To protect the one undead, who fully and completely regained his memories and individually being the epicentre of the Pulse of Vengance twisting the land itself and its people.

Localized Phenomena
Through the bombing of Etherium in 1000 AD the Pulse released from the bowels of the Veil necrotic fumes known as arcane ligaments. These ribbons continuously change and warp the landscape interacting with the earth itself. Those who die in these cursed lands immediately get resurrected, brainwashed to serve the source of the fumes. The deadlands are a nightmare plane, where only the toughest and craziest living beings were able to temporarily claim their place only to get devoured by its Majesties slow and creeping influence. The fumes cause any living being nightmares, dread and hopelessness unless you happen to be in its master's favour.
This plane is obviously haunted.
Not even the sky is normal anymore around here.
But as an Abolisher it is my sacred duty to at least meet our undead leader once in my lifetime.
We don't serve Tarr, but on paper, he is still our unofficial Grand Abolisher.
I dislike his realm and wish to one day purify the ground to give my ancestors finally their much-needed rest.

The Sanctum of Demise
Former burial ground of all the late Abolishers of Rubeus up until 1000 AS. When the dead rose, activated by the Pulse of Vengance, the freshly buried Grand Abolisher Rex Tarr took control over the phenomenon forming with his predecessors the core of the undead order. They turned the white sanctum over the millennia into a menacing citadel using the corrupted rock as building material only keeping the sacred fundament uncorrupted. Protected by the legendary beast Corpse Churner the Sanctum is a well-guarded and ominous capital holding immense power. The curse of Vengance
What makes the Deadlands truly an unhabitable region for the living are the consequences of Vengeance. You will get sooner or later inevitably infected by the curse. The curse of unlife, to serve the Pulse's thirst to set things straight after your death.
To take revenge on the one, who desecrated their tombs, even if they don't know who that might be.
"Normally such arcane pulses cease after the target died.
But this particular is confused unable to find peace.
Might be because the fool, who initiated the catastrophe is still alive to this very day.
I am that foolish fool.
Great dark and ominous feel, with the huge impregnable tower surrounded minions.
