Born to a humble family of fishers in 471 AD, Takumi learned to sail almost as soon as he could walk. He left his family's squalid village as soon as he could, joining the Bat Fleet when they stopped into town, then serving with the Moth Fleet before joining the Hydra Fleet. He served as a researcher for many years before being elevated to Admiral by vote of council.
